As the Holidays pass and it’s time to return to school I find that now is the time that most people start stressing out. Here are some easy ways to destress during this time:
- Stay Positive
Try to stay positive. Don’t stress about upcoming due dates and all the things you need to do. Keep telling yourself that you are going to get through it and you will!
- Meditate
Sometimes putting on some soft music, closing your eyes, and meditating can be the best way to relax.
- Exercise
Getting all your pent up energy may be exactly what you need. Instead of breaking down crying (what I usually do), put on some work out clothes and maybe go for a run.
- Unplug
Turn off all your electronics and just breathe. Sometimes the stress gets worse with your phone constantly beeping, reminding you of your procrastination and the work that needs to get done.
- Listen to Music
Sometimes when I am stressed out I close myself off from the world and put on some of my favorite music.
- Read a Book
For people who don’t mind reading, this may be the best way to relax. Reading allows your mind to wander and get away from the stressful world we live in.
- Watch some Tv
Sometimes people just need to put the tv on and let yourself wander.
- Take a nap
Naps make everything better. Trust me. I know.
- Plan things out
Sometimes just pulling your calendar out and planning everything that needs to get done helps you relax. You can see when things need to get done and how much time you have to do it.
- Create a small corner in your room to relax
Buy a couple of candles, fuzzy socks, and a coloring book and place them in a part of your room for when you are stressed out.
I hope this guide helped you a bit when it comes to being relaxed. Just breathe! I promise things will eventually calm down and get better!
